The Ottawa Senators announced Tuesday they signed forward Wyatt Bongiovanni to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 24-year-old was acquired by the Senators in March 2024 in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets. In 48 games split between the Senators’ AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, as well as the Jets’ AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, Bongiovanni scored 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points.

In seven playoff games with Belleville, Bongiovanni had a goal and three assists for four points.

Through three AHL seasons, the Birmingham, Mich., native has 29 goals and 14 assists for 43 points in 107 career minor-league games.

It’s been a busy few days for the Senators. On Monday night, just minutes before the puck dropped in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Senators acquired goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Boston Bruins for Jonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic and the No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

Ullmark, 30, won the Vezina Trophy in 2022-23 after his second year with the Bruins. Drafted 163rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2012, Ullmark spent the first six years of his career there before signing a four-year deal with the Bruins in 2021.

Ullmark shared the net with Jeremy Swayman for the past two years, but Swayman appeared to be Boston’s goalie of the future. Ullmark was still a big part of Boston’s regular season, boasting a 22-10-7 record with two shutouts last year.
