Sidney Crosby becomes Penguins’ all-time points leader for regular season, playoffs

It’s another notch in the Hall of Fame career of Sid the Kid.
On Tuesday night, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby scored the 1,695th point of his NHL career. Combined with his 201 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, No. 87 surpassed Mario Lemieux for the most points in franchise history in both the regular season and playoffs, with 1,896 points.

— Penguins PR (@PenguinsPR) October 22, 2025The monumental point came in the second period of the Penguins’ matchup with the Vancouver Canucks. Crosby scored his fourth goal of the season with just a few minutes to go in the frame to give Pittsburgh a 3-1 victory.

The Cole Harbour, N.S. native will go down as one of the best players in franchise history, and the impact he’s had in Pittsburgh and on the NHL in general will never be overstated. He’s the all-time leader in games played (1,359) and assists (1,067), while sitting second in goals (690) and points (1,723) behind Lemieux.
Crosby’s 201 postseason points are above both Lemieux (172) and longtime teammate Evgeni Malkin (180). Crosby is a two-time Conn Smythe Trophy winner, having helped the Penguins win three Stanley Cups during this time. He’s won the Art Ross, Rocket Richard and Hart Trophies twice in his illustrious career.
In seven games this season, Crosby has four goals and four assists for eight points.
Also in the game, veteran Pens defenseman Kris Letang registered the 600th assist of his NHL career, making him the fifth player in franchise history to reach the mark. Letang is also fifth in Penguins history in points with 775.
