Sidney Crosby moved into sole possession of sixth place on the NHL’s all-time points list after he scored twice to help the Pittsburgh Penguins win 5-2 over the Los Angeles Kings Saturday night.

Crosby passed Hockey Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne with his 1,772nd point after he deflected the puck past Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper in the second period.

He scored an empty netter to seal the win for Pittsburgh. The 39-year-old now has six goals and six assists for 12 points in 17 games this season.

In 2025-26, Crosby passed Mario Lemieux and Steve Yzerman for eighth and seventh all-time in points, respectively. He now needs 26 points to pass Hall of Famer Ron Francis for fifth on the all-time list.

Across 21 NHL seasons, Crosby has 660 goals and 1,113 assists for 1,773 points in 1,437 career regular-season games. He has hit the 100-point mark in six seasons and recorded at least 50 assists in a season 12 times.

During that time, he’s broken the 100-point mark six times, recorded at least 50 assists 12 times, hit the 30-goal mark 13 times and has averaged more than a point-per-game in every season of his career.

Crosby also has 72 goals and 134 assists for 206 points in 186 career playoff games. He captained the Penguins to three Stanley Cup championships in 2009, 2016 and 2017, and helped them reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2008. He also won the Conn Smythe Trophy in both 2016 and 2017.

Crosby has twice won each of the Hart Trophy, the Art Ross Trophy, the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award.
