The St. Louis Blues will be without one of their solid depth forwards for Tuesday night’s game against the Calgary Flames.

According to Lou Korac, who covers the Blues for NHL.com, Mathieu Joseph will be out with a lower-body injury, while Oskar Sundqvist will play and Nick Bjugstad will draw into the lineup for the contest at Enterprise Center set for an 8:00 PM EST puck drop.

Joseph, a 28-year-old winger from Quebec, is off to a strong start in his bottom six role this year. Through 15 games played, he’s scored two goals and dished out four assists for six points while skating to a plus-1 rating on an average of 12:41 of time on ice per game.

A fourth-round pick by Tampa Bay in the 2015 NHL Draft, Joseph is in his second season in St. Louis after spending the previous portions of his career with the Lightning and Senators.

Joseph turned in a three-point effort last Thursday in a 3-0 road win at Buffalo in which he scored a shorthanded goal and assisted on the team’s other two tallies.

Sundqvist will be returning to the lineup for his first game since last Wednesday’s loss to Washington. The Swedish veteran has five points, all assists, in eight appearances so far this season. Bjugstad has 16 games played, and he’s found the back of the net four times in his depth role with the club.

St. Louis has struggled mightily so far this season, as they own a 5-8-3 record and sit in the eighth and final spot in the Central Division.

Tuesday night’s game is a showdown against their last-place counterpart in the Pacific Division, as the Flames are 4-11-2, which has them last not only in their division but also in the NHL as a whole.
