Blues sign Alexey Toropchenko to two-year extension

The St. Louis Blues announced Monday they signed forward Alexey Toropchenko to a two-year contract extension with an annual average value of $2.5 million.

Toropchenko, a native of Moskva, Russia, has two goals and three assists for five points in 27 games in 2025-26. Now in his fifth NHL season, the 6-foot-6 winger has 32 goals and 333 assists for 65 points in 286 regular-season games.
Toropchenko spent parts of four seasons in the AHL, where in 107 career games, he scored 16 goals and recorded 16 assists for 32 points. He also spent a season in Russia's KHL, where he finished with seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 45 games.
Taken by the Blues in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Toropchenko spent two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm, where he scored 34 goals and recorded 38 assists for 82 points in 128 regular-season games.
He also posted 14 goals and seven assists for 21 points in 30 playoff games, and helped the Storm win an OHL Championship in 2019.
The Blues are 17-18-8 with 42 points through their first 43 games of the 2025-26 campaign. They are fifth in the Central Division and one point back of a wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
Robert Thomas leads the team in assists and points with 20 and 30, respectively, while Justin Faulk has a team-leading 11 goals at the midway mark of the season.
In net, Jordan Bingington has a 8-10-6 record in 25 appearances, posting an .874 save percentage (SV%) and -14.7 goals saved above expected (GSAx). As for Joel Hofer, he's 9-8-2 with a .900 SV% and -4.0 GSAx in 23 games.
