The deal will carry an NHL average annual value of $875,000.
Rosen, 32, is in his second stint with St. Louis after the Blues acquired him from the Washington Capitals this past November in exchange for defenseman Corey Schueneman. In 47 games for the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds since the trade, Rosen has seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points. In the nine games he played for Washington’s AHL affiliate Hershey Bears this season prior to getting dealt, he put up a goal and six assists for seven points.
The Swedish national has not played in the NHL since the 2023-24 season, when he had an assist in six games during his first stint with the Blues.
Rosen went undrafted by the NHL, and began is North American career by signing a two-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2017. He spent two seasons with the Maple Leafs’ organization, mostly playing with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies and helping them win their first Calder Cup in 2018. Prior to the 2019-2020 season, Rosen was traded to the Colorado Avalanche as part of the deal that sent Nazem Kadri to Colorado in exchange for Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot. Partway through that season, Rosen was dealt back to Toronto in exchange for goaltender Michael Hutchinson. The following offseason, Rosen signed as a free agent with the Blues, where he received most of his NHL experience. His longest look at the NHL level came in the 2022-23 season, when he notched eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points in 49 games for St. Louis.
The Blues will visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday before hosting the Edmonton Oilers on Friday.
