Blues sign Hunter Skinner to one-year, two-way contract

The St. Louis Blues signed defenseman Hunter Skinner to a one-year, two-way contract on Sunday, according to PuckPedia.

PuckPedia is reporting that Kinner will make $775,000 at the NHL level and $125,000 in the minors.

In 2024-25, Skinner played 71 regular-season games with the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, scoring eight goals and adding 15 assists for 23 points and 98 penalty minutes. He also appeared in three Calder Cup Playoff games.

In five AHL seasons, Skinner has recorded 16 goals and 40 assists for 56 points and 249 penalty minutes in 203 regular-season games with the Thunderbirds and Hartford Wolf Pack.

Skinner has also appeared in 48 regular-season games in the ECHL, scoring 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points.

Taken in the fourth round by the New York Rangers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Skinner spent three seasons in the USHL, scoring five goals and 19 assists for 24 points and 85 penalty minutes in 83 career regular-season games with the Lincoln Stars and Muskegon Lumberjacks.

He also spent one season in the OHL with the London Knights, scoring six goals and 26 assists for 32 points in 62 regular-season games.

In 2024-25, the Blues went 44-30-8 with 96 points, finishing fifth in the Central Division and clinching a playoff spot with the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. They were eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Winnipeg Jets in seven games.

Forward Robert Thomas led the team in assists (60) and points (81), while forward Jordan Kyrou finished with a team-leading 36 goals, as well as 34 assists for 70 total points.
