Blues sign Robby Fabbri to one-year contract; Jordan Kyrou out week-to-week

The St. Louis Blues have signed free agent center Robby Fabbri to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Wednesday, while also placing right winger Jordan Kyrou on injured reserve with week-to-week status.
Fabbri, who previously played for the Blues from 2015-16 to 2019-20, rejoins the club after years with the Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks, as well as a three-game stint in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers this season, his first AHL games since 2018-19.
The 29-year-old center comes into the team just as the club placed Kyrou on injured reserve with week-to-week status with a lower-body injury. Kyrou, this season, has eight goals and 16 points in 28 games and is one of the longtime Blues who previously played during Fabbri’s time with the club.
Kyrou brought the Blues to five forward injuries, having recently lost Nick Bjugstad in a 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday as well.
Fabbri will join the Blues on Thursday in Nashville ahead of a game against the Predators and is on a contract that will pay him an average annual value of $775,000 while in the NHL, and $300,000 in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds.
While the 2019 Stanley Cup champion with the Blues has played 442 NHL games and has 106 goals and 216 points, he has not skated on NHL ice since a preseason tryout with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who opted to not sign him ahead of October’s start to the season.
Fabbri was a first-round pick of the Blues in 2014 and played four seasons, including the Stanley Cup winning year, amassing 32 goals and 73 points in 164 games. He was traded to the Red Wings in 2019, where he played until joining the Ducks last season.
In 2024-25 with Anaheim, he scored 16 points in 44 games.
After Thursday’s game in Nashville, the Blues host the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night as they look to climb out of seventh place in the NHL’s Central Division.
