Blues sign Matt Luff to one-year, two-way contract

The St. Louis Blues signed forward Matt Luff to a one-year, two-way contract through the 2025-26 season, according to PuckPedia.

The deal is worth $775,000 in the NHL and $400,000 in the minors.

Luff spent the 2024-25 season with the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL, scoring 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 point in 50 regular-season games. He also had a goal in three playoff games.

In nine AHL seasons, Luff has 87 goals and 125 assists for 212 points in 279 career games with the Thunderbirds, Charlotte Checkers, Grand Rapids Griffins, Milwaukee Admirals and Ontario Reign. He also has two goals and an assist in 12 playoff games.

Luff has also played in 106 career NHL regular-season games, scoring 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points with the Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings.

The Blues recorded a 44-30-8 record with 96 points, fifth in the Central Division and clinching a Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. They were eliminated in seven games by the Winnipeg Jets.

Earlier in the day, the Blues acquired defenseman Logan Mailloux from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Zac Bolduc.

Mailloux, 22, has appeared in eight career NHL games, scoring two goals and three assists for five points. He spent the majority of the last two seasons in the AHL with the Laval Rocket, scoring 26 goals and 54 assists for 80 points in 135 AHL regular-season games.

Taken No. 31 overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Mailloux spent one full season with the London Knights in 2022-23, scoring 25 goals and 28 assists for 53 points in 59 games. He also had eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 21 playoff games.
