Tampa Bay Lightning acquire Brent Seabrook’s contract for Tyler Johnson and a second

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired Brent Seabrook in exchange for forward Tyler Johnson and a 2023 second-round pick.
Seabrook, whose contract ends after the 2023-24 season, will go to Tampa’s LTIR. Shedding Johnson’s contract helps create some cap space for the Lightning.
For the Blackhawks, they get to save some real dollars while also getting a useful player in Johnson and a second-round pick in return.
After trading Seabrook for Johnson and saving $1.875M Cap Hit, #Blackhawks have $1.8M Cap Space with a Full 23 on Projected Roster (13F/7D/3G). Can potentially go $3.9M over Cap w/ Shaw on LTIR. RFA: Nylander, Hagel, Zadorov puckpedia.com/team/chicago-b…
Johnson’s contract, which carries a cap hit of $5 million, expires at the end of the 2023-24 season. The center put up 22 points through 55 games with the Lightning this past season.
