Manning the first all-star team are forwards Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers), Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Jason Robertson (Dallas Stars), defensemen Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche) and Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets), and goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning).
McDavid took home his sixth Art Ross Trophy and first in three seasons, leading the NHL with 138 points. He also claimed the Ted Lindsay Award for a fifth time, tying him with Wayne Gretzky for the most in league history. Kucherov won the Hart Trophy for the second time in his career, finishing second behind McDavid in scoring with 130 points. Werenski won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top blueliner for the first time in his career, posting 81 points, second-most among defenders. Vasilevskiy won the Vezina Trophy for the second time in his career, and first since 2019, helping lead the Lightning’s resurgence this past season. Robertson, a second-time First Team nomination, scored 45 goals and 96 points in 82 games. Makar was named to the first all-star team for a fourth time after being a finalist for the Norris once again.
The second all-star team consists of forwards Cole Caufield (Montreal Canadiens), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche) and David Pastrnak (Boston Bruins), defensemen Rasmus Dahlin (Buffalo Sabres) and Evan Bouchard (Edmonton Oilers), and goaltender Logan Thompson (Washington Capitals).
MacKinnon claimed the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy for the first time in his career, leading the league with 53 goals. Caufield, the Lady Byng Trophy winner, was the first Canadien to reach the 50-goal mark since Stephane Richer accomplished the feat in 1989-90. Pastrnak was the driving force behind the Bruins offense this year, scoring 29 goals and 100 points. Dahlin, a Norris and Bill Masterton Trophy finalist, had an incredible run with the Sabers, posting 74 points in 77 regular-season games. Bouchard led all defensemen with 95 points, while Thompson finished tied for third in the NHL in save percentage (.912) and fifth in goals-against average (2.44).
The all-star teams are voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
