The Lightning acquired Myers from the Nashville Predators in July as part of the deal that sent Ryan McDonagh to Tennessee.
An undrafted player, Myers originally signed an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers in September 2015. He made his NHL debut with the Flyers in 2018–19 and emerged as a regular the following year.
The Flyers traded Myers to the Predators in 2021. The Moncton, NB product lasted just one season in Nashville, scoring one goal and four points while averaging 14:53 in 27 games.
Myers has appeared in 153 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Nashville, and Tampa Bay, scoring eight goals and 36 points while averaging 16:35. He appeared in 16 games with the Flyers during the 2020 bubble playoffs, logging 20:02 per night and scoring four points.
The Flyers previously placed forward Kieffer Bellows on the waiver wire on Thursday; after he cleared, the Flyers assigned him to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Myers was the only player waived on Friday.
