The DFO Prospect Show – Ep. 14: Shai Buium
Shai Buium from the Sioux City Musketeers is Liam Horrobin’s fourteenth guest on The Daily Faceoff Prospect Show. Buium is the 20th ranked skater in North American according to the NHL Central Scouting Rankings.
Buium and the Musketeers made the semi-finals of the Clark Cup before falling to the Fargo Force in two games. In the regular season, the San Diego,
California, native played in 50 games for the Musketeers, scoring four goals and 26 points. At the end of the season awards, he was named to the USHL All-Rookie second team.
On June 23rd, the Musketeers defenceman signed with the University of Denver. In the interview, Liam asked him about his commitment to Denver and why he thought it was a good fit for him. Buium said that the school reminded him of Shattuck, where he played some of his minor hockey.
Also, on the show, the two spoke about Buium’s experience at the Brick Tournament in Edmonton, his commitment to playing hockey in LA while living in San Diego, and what he wants to improve in his game.
