The Kraken will reportedly select Jared McCann from the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs essentially traded a prospect and a draft pick in order to keep their roster intact.
The team sent Filip Hallander and a seventh-round draft pick to the Penguins over the weekend in exchange for @Jared McCann, who they ultimately left exposed to Seattle in the Expansion Draft. While rumours swirled on Tuesday that @Alex Kerfoot would be Seattle’s pick, the Kraken will reportedly select McCann…

McCann scored 14 goals and 32 points for the Penguins over 43 games in 2021. He has a $2,940,000 cap hit in 2021-22 and will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
Toronto traded for McCann and left both him and Kerfoot exposed in the Expansion Draft. By doing so, they ensured that no matter which player was selected, they would still have a third-line centre next season. This move also made it likely that they could slide @Travis Dermott, another player they didn’t protect, through the cracks.
