Today on Daily Faceoff Live, Frank Seravalli discussed what the Montreal Canadiens could end up doing ahead of Friday’s NHL Trade Deadline:

Tyler Yaremchuk: Any word, even if it’s highly unlikely, could the Habs do anything?

Frank Seravalli: I think my eye is on them to be one of those creative teams in the next 24 hours. They are antsy to do something. I don’t think, for as much interest as there has been in Josh Anderson, that the Habs have any interest in moving him. They’ve turned down some massive offers for him before.

It’s really a shame what’s happened to the Habs this year with the injuries that they’ve had. Joel Edmundson and his back, they could have got something for him. Sean Monahan at center… think about it this way, his season started with 17 points in 25 games. He was trending towards being a significant deadline addition for someone and, unfortunately, just hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

So, will someone pay a low price at the end to take a gamble on Monahan? Maybe and I’m sure the Habs would oblige. They’re in a good spot because they already got a first-round pick to take on his contract. But I don’t see any big swings from Montreal coming, they’re always out there and thinking a couple of permutations ahead. So they’ve been a fun team to try and keep track of.
