The most surprising aspects of the Boston Bruins’ season

The Boston Bruins have been on a legitimate tear throughout the NHL this season; recently, they set the record for most wins in a single season with 63 and became the fastest team in history to reach 100 points. With the season not even over, the Bruins have already captured the President’s Trophy, leading the league with an astonishing record of 63-12-5 and 131 points in head coach Jim Montgomery’s first season behind the bench. After a lot of pre-season doubts surrounding the club, they have turned this into the best season in Bruins’ franchise history. Bally Sports’ and Daily Faceoff’s Pete Blackburn stopped in to talk about the most surprising aspects of the Bruins 2022-23 season.
Tyler Yaremchuk: You know Pete Blackburn slept well last night after the Bruins victory; he’s been sleeping good all year as this team does not lose Pete. The way I want to go with this off the start is there’s been so much that has gone well with this team. What has been the surprising part of this record-setting season?
Pete Blackburn: Just the fact it has been so consistent, I’ve been waiting since day one for the bottom to fall out or at least a major skid to sort of reset things a bit. But they’ve been the best team in the league since day one, and that rarely ever happens in this league. Especially with a team that a lot of people expected to take a step back after the season opener, a lot of question marks surrounding this team heading into the season, but since day one, they’ve been the most impressive, and they look like they’ll take that all the way to game-82. It’s been a pretty easy ride, a lot of easy healthy sleepy nights for me in Boston.
