The Suitcase & The Scribe Episode 33: Let’s Talk Playoff Hockey

The playoffs are here, and The Suitcase and The Scribe are back to talk about everything that’s happened so far.
We have watched all 16 playoff teams play, and we have had a few upset wins. The biggest was the Washington Capitals taking down the Florida Panthers on the road. The Panthers head coach said this was good for his team, but was it?
The Tampa Bay Lightning, the Minnesota Wild and the Edmonton Oilers suffered tough losses too on night one. Mike McKenna and Scott Burnside discussed which one of those teams desperately needs to win game two.
There was plenty to talk about in the goaltending department, too, with Minnesota and Edmonton each facing a controversy. A Mike Smith mistake led to the game-winning goal in Oil Country, but our Mike is here to defend him. Then in Minnesota, was the goaltending to blame or do the Wild just need a better penalty kill?
The guys also talked about the officiating in the early days of the playoffs. Many penalties have been called, but how consistent will the officials stay as the playoffs continue.
Finally, Mike and Scott dove into some non-playoff news in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Philadelphia.
