The Tampa Bay Lightning battled some serious injuries

The Tampa Bay Lightning were battered and bruised but still came out on top in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Lightning general manager Julian BriseBois met with media Tuesday morning where he delved into some of the injuries his players played through.

According to BriseBois, defenceman Victor Hedman played through torn meniscus in his knee that he suffered on March 30th. He had a slight drop-off in performance at the end of the season and into the playoffs but still averaged almost 25 minutes per game.

Forward Nikita Kucherov suffered a broken rib from a crosscheck sustained by Islanders defenceman Scott Mayfield.

Defenceman Ryan McDonagh and forward Barclay Goodrow, meanwhile, played through broken hands.

It never fails to amaze me what players play through to win the cup.
