The Tampa Bay Lightning Claim Alex Barre-Boulet Off Waivers

Alex Barre-Boulet is the first former Seattle Kraken. He’s now back with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
According to Frank Seravalli, the Lightning have claimed Barre-Boulet off of waivers from the Kraken.
Alex Barre-Boulet was a #SeaKraken for 11 days, long enough to be on the first road trip, but not long enough to make it to the home opener.
— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) October 22, 2021Barre-Boulet was signed by the Lightning as an undrafted free agent out of the QMJHL back in 2018. He performed well for the team’s AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, scoring 68 points in 74 games in 2018-19 and 56 points in 60 games in 2019-20.
In 2021, Barre-Boulet split the season between the Lightning, the Crunch, and the Taxi Squad. He scored 12 points in 10 games at the AHL level and scored three goals in 15 games at the NHL level.
Prior to the start of the season, the Lightning tried to sneak Barre-Boulet to the AHL, but the Kraken grabbed him off of waivers. He played two games with Seattle and picked up an assist but was placed on waivers on Thursday.
Given Nikita Kucherov is expected to miss quite a bit of time due to injury, Barre-Boulet might finally get an extended look with the Lightning.
