The Toronto Maple Leafs now own the record for the NHL’s longest Stanley Cup drought
Jul 4, 2021, 12:09 EDT

The Toronto Maple Leafs have made history.
It’s been 19,786 days since the Leafs last won a Stanley Cup. That’s now the longest drought in NHL history. The honour was previously held by the New York Rangers, who went from 1940 to 1994 without a Stanley Cup.
This isn’t even a Top 5 embarrassing Leafs moment over the past two years.
On the bright side for the Leafs, the team still has a long way to go before setting a record for the longest championship drought among major North American sports teams. The Chicago Cubs finally ended a legendary 108-year drought when they won the World Series in 2016, their first title since 1908.
