Maple Leafs’ Pridham, Clancey leave organization

Some notable changes in the front office of one of the top franchises in the NHL.
On Sunday, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka announced that assistant general manager Brandon Prihdam has mutually parted ways with the organization, and that fellow AGM of player personnel Derek Clancey has also exited the team.
In a statement, Chayka thanked both Pridham and Clancey for their work in the organization.
“Brandon has played an integral role in the organization over the past 12 seasons,” Chayka said. “We are sincerely appreciative of Brandon’s professionalism, commitment and dedication to the Maple Leafs throughout his tenure. Derek also brought valuable experience and insight to our hockey operations department during his time with the club. We thank both Brandon and Derek for their contributions to the organization and wish them and their families all the very best moving forward.”
Pridham came to the Maple Leafs as a special assistant to then-general manager Dave Nonis. He was one of the first notable hires during Brendan Shanahan’s tenure as president. Pridham oversaw the analytics department, seeing the transition from Nonis to Lou Lamoriello, and was eventually promoted to AGM after Kyle Dubas was promoted to GM. His knowledge helped orchestrate the organization’s game plan that led Toronto to reach the postseason for nine straight seasons.
The Stoufville, Ont. native took over the co-GM reins after Brad Treliving left the team near the end of the 2025-26 season, which saw the Leafs miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2015-16, Pridham’s second season with the organization.
Clancey joined the Leafs in 2023, after spending one season as AGM with the Vancouver Canucks. His resume includes a year as a pro scout of the Calgary Flames, and 14 years with the Pittsburgh Penguins, working as a scout, the director of professional scouting and director of player personnel.
