The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Mitch Marner on the injured reserve.

Marner was injured in a collision last week with teammate Jake Muzzin in practice and missed back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday against the Minnesota Wild and Winnipeg Jets.

Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said Tuesday morning Marner is believed to be out three-to-four weeks with a shoulder injury.

The club also placed Rasmus Sandin on injured reserve Tuesday morning. He is expected to miss two-to-three weeks after a knee-on-knee collision with Neal Pionk Sunday. Keefe said Sandin underwent an MRI and no structural damage was revealed, but it will take some time for the swelling to go down.

With the two out for the time being, the Leafs recalled Alex Steeves, Kristiāns Rubīns and Alex Biega from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
