The Toronto Maple Leafs signed goaltender Anthony Stolarz to a four-year, $15 million contract extension on Sunday, paying him an annual average value (AAV) of $3.75 million.

The new deal will keep Stolarz with the Maple Leafs through the 2029-30 campaign.

TSN’s Chris Johnston confirmed the news while ESPN analyst Kevin Weekes first reported the terms earlier on Sunday.

The Maple Leafs signed Stolarz to a two-year, $5 million deal with a cap hit of $2.5 million in July 2024. In his first season with Toronto, the 6-foot-6 netminder posted a 21-8-3 record with a 2.14 goals against average (GAA) and a league-leading .926 save percentage (SV%) in 34 appearances.

He also appeared in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games last spring, going 4-2 with a .901 SV% and 2.19 GAA.

Now entering his ninth NHL season, Stolarz has appeared in 142 regular-season games, posting a 64-39-12 record with a .917 SV% and 2.55 GAA with the Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers and Philadelphia Flyers.

He won a Stanley Cup championship with the Panthers in 2023.

Stolarz, a native of Edison, N.J., spent seven seasons in the American Hockey League, posting a .913 SV% and 2.86 GAA with a 74-53-24 record in 155 career games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and San Diego Gulls.

Stolarz was taken in the second round by the Flyers in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Before turning professional, he spent two seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights, helping the team win an OHL Championship in 2013.

The Maple Leafs finished the 2024-25 season with a 52-26-4 record and 108 points, winning the Atlantic Division and finishing with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. After defeating the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the playoffs, Toronto was eliminated by the Panthers in seven games in round two.
