The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired defenceman Calle Rosen in exchange for goaltender Michael Hutchinson.
Hutchinson, 29, has had a tumultuous season with the Maple Leafs appearing in 15 games and posting a meagre .886 save percentage. He joins an Avalanche club that has been hunting for goalie help.
He is a UFA at the end of the season and carries a cap hit of $700,000.
Rosen, meanwhile, rejoins the Leafs organization after spending this year with the Avalanche organization. In 35 games with the AHL’s Colorado Eagles, Rosen scored three goals and 12 assists.
He carries a cap hit of $700,000 and has one year left after this.
