Sceptres’ Allie Munroe leaves game against Charge with lower-body injury

The Toronto Sceptres announced on social media that defender Allie Munroe left Tuesday’s game against the Ottawa Charge with a lower-body injury and would not return.

The Sceptres would go on to lose the game 4-3 in overtime. Down 3-0, the Charge would score three goals to force an extra frame before Rebecca Leslie buried her fourth of the season to give Ottawa the win.
Munroe finished the night after just 4:10 of ice time. Through seven games this season, she’s recorded two assists while averaging 16:40 of ice time. Through three PWHL seasons, Munroe, a 2023 ninth-round pick, has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 60 career regular-season games.
She’s also played in nine Walter Cup Playoff games, recording a goal and assist.
Before joining the PWHL, Munroe spent two seasons with the Connecticut Whale, where in 42 games she recorded four goals and 25 assists for 29 points. She also spent parts of two seasons in Sweden with Djurgardens IF, where she posted six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 68 regular-season games.
In college, Munroe spent four seasons with Syracuse University, where she scored 20 goals and 51 assists for 71 points in 137 games. She is Syracuse’s all-time goal leader for defenders.
The Charge are now 1-2-0-5 with seven points, seventh in league standings. Meanwhile, Toronto is 3-0-2-2 with 11 points, third the PWHL.
Sceptres’ forwards Daryl Watts and Jesse Compher are tied for the team lead in goals and points with two and four, respectively. As for the Charge, Brianne Jenner has a team-leading eight points via three goals and five assists, while Leslie’s overtime goal gives her the team lead with four.
