Even after trading Kane, the Oilers still need to clear more cap space

The Edmonton Oilers made a move to clear up some cap space by dealing Evander Kane to the Vancouver Canucks. Now, they have $17 million in cap space, which still may not be enough to make all the changes they needed with the contract extensions that they have looming over them. So what else can be done to make cap space?
Tyler Yaremchuk and Frank Seravalli talked about the Oilers and how they still have some more work to do to clear up cap space on Daily Faceoff Live.
Tyler Yaremchuk: You can take a glance at their PuckPedia page and see that this move puts them around $17 million in cap space. For the Oilers, I know that might sound like a lot on the surface, but a Trent Frederic deal coming in at a rumored $3.8 million AAV, Evan Bouchard likely going to be a $10 million piece for the Edmonton Oilers as well. The point here on the Oilers is $17 million sounds like a lot, but it is going to disappear like that once they sign those two guys.
Frank Seravalli: Yes, it’s still not enough. That’s the truth. If the Oilers want to try and make other things happen, they’re going to need more than that, which is why Arvidsson is likely to be on the move. They’d still like to be active in the free agent market in terms of some younger forwards, and they still need to make something happen on the goalie front.
So are you trading one of your goalies? Probably at some point if you’re bringing someone in. Also, if you’re trying to acquire someone, and they have a decently sized cap hit, it’s easy to see that it’s going to be difficult for these puzzle pieces to fit together for Stan Bowman and company.
