Finland has named Sebastian Aho, Aleksander Barkov and Mikko Rantanen to their squad as the first three, while Sweden named Victor Hedman, Gabriel Landeskog and Mika Zibanejad.
The only other team to name players so far is the Czech Republic, who named Ondrej Palat, David Pastrnak and Jakub Voracek to the team.
There’s a few important dates to keep in mind for these Olympic Games:
- Oct. 15 – Countries will need to name 50 possible players for their respective teams.
- Oct. 15 – That date also marks the beginning of drug testing ahead of the games.
- Jan. 1 – This marks the pull out date for the NHL and NHLPA, should they decide to no longer send their players.
- Early Jan. – It’s early in the month when final roster selections are due.
