U.S. Olympic hockey players make appearance on SNL opening monologue

There was plenty of gold on stage during Saturday Night Live this weekend.
U.S. women’s hockey captain Hilary Knight and defender Megan Keller, as well U.S. men’s forward Jack Hughes and his brother, defenseman Quinn Hughes, made an appearance during Connor Storrie’s opening monologue on the Feb. 28 episode of Saturday Night Live.
Connor Storrie’s monologue!
A few minutes into Storrie’s monologue, both Hughes brothers joined the Heated Rivalry star, wearing their USA Hockey sweaters and Olympic gold medals.
“We’ve been so busy playing, we haven’t had time to see your show yet,” Jack Hughes told Storrie.
“It’s about hockey, right?” Quinn Hughes followed.
“Kind of,” Storrie quipped to audience laughter.

Jack Hughes followed that by saying he got his teeth knocked out in the gold-medal final, then asked Storrie if that happens in his show.
“Metaphorically,” Storrie said with a grin.
After Storrie added that he hoped some hockey players watched Heated Rivalry, Knight and Keller walked on stage, also wearing their USA Hockey sweaters and gold medals. After the crowd’s applause subsided, Keller told Storrie: “Don’t worry, we saw your show.”
“Megan and Hilary, it’s so cool that we’re all here!” Storrie said.
“It was going to be just us, but we thought we’d invite the guys, too,” Knight replied.
“Yeah, we thought we’d give them a little moment to shine,” Keller added.
Both the men’s and women’s hockey teams won gold at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics earlier this month, as Keller scored in overtime to defeat Canada, then Jack Hughes did the same days later against the Canadian men.
