Canucks select Brooks Rogowski No. 33 overall at the 2026 NHL Draft

The Vancouver Canucks have selected center Brooks Rogowski with the No.33 overall selection of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
Rogowski was projected to be selected around 39th overall on average across all of the main draft rankings, going as high as 15th and as low as 61st. He was also ranked 21st among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis projected him to go above consensus at 29th overall.
Ellis had this to say about Rogowski in his most recent draft rankings:
“I’ve really liked my viewings of Rogowski, one of the best “big dudes” in the draft this year. At 6-foot-7, he’s obviously got size. But I also appreciated how well he hustled at both ends, chasing pucks and breaking up plays. He’s a smart forward who uses his big frame to win battles, but he also has a good shot and isn’t afraid to launch it from anywhere in an attempt to surprise the goaltender. Rogowski won’t be a big-time offensive threat but, as a supporting player, he has a ton of tools to make himself useful. Players who move as well with his size profile are coveted around the NHL.”
Rogowski started his 2025-26 season with the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League. In 46 games with the team, he had 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points, as the Generals finished last in the Eastern Conference with a 19-45-3-1 record. He was tied for third on the team in scoring, and third outright in assists.
Rogowski then represented the United States at the U-18 World Championship, where he had three assists in four games. The United States finished first in its group but lost to Latvia in the quarterfinals.
Rogowski is expected to return for another year in the OHL next season with the Generals before he joins Michigan State University for the 2027-28 season.
