Golden Knights acquire Tomas Hertl, two third-round picks from Sharks for David Edstrom and 2025 first-round pick

The Vegas Golden Knights may have stolen the show at this year’s NHL Trade Deadline, acquiring Tomas Hertl from the San Jose Sharks. The trade was broken by TSN’s Bob McKenzie.

According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, the Golden Knights also acquired the Sharks’ third-round picks in 2025 and 2027. San Jose will receive the Golden Knights’ first-round pick in 2025 and their 2023 first-round pick, forward David Edstrom.
The Sharks will retain 17 percent of Hertl’s $8.137 million AAV, meaning the Golden Knights will only have to pay $6.75 million per year for the remaining seven seasons.
To be clear. Hertl and two 3rds to Vegas.
The Golden Knights already made a major splash at the Trade Deadline when they acquired defenseman Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night. In return, the Flames receive defenseman Daniil Miromanov, a 2025 conditional first-round pick and 2025 third-round pick.
