The Vegas Golden Knights will be without top center Jack Eichel for Saturday’s game against the Dallas Stars as he deals with an undisclosed injury, per a club release.

Eichel, 26, is officially listed as day-to-day. The six-foot-two forward, who shoots right, has 27 goals and 65 points in 66 games with the Golden Knights this season.

The Golden Knights are set to take on the Stars at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. PT. Vegas and Dallas are two of five Western Conference teams currently with at least 100 points.

Eichel has points in each of his last eight games, with one goal and 10 assists over that span. He last played for the Golden Knights against the Los Angeles Kings on Apr. 6, collecting an assist and logging 18:46 of ice time.

The Golden Knights originally acquired Eichel, the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, in a blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 4, 2021. The deal saw Vegas receive Eichel and a 2023 third-round pick from Buffalo in exchange for Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a 2022 first-round pick (Noah Ostlund), and a 2023 second-round pick.

Eichel has accumulated 180 goals and 445 points in 475 career NHL games over parts of eight regular seasons with the Sabres and Golden Knights. He has yet to make his Stanley Cup Playoff debut, although it looks like that’ll change this year — Vegas has already clinched a postseason berth.

The Golden Knights enter Saturday’s action with a Pacific Division-leading 106 points and a 49-22-8 record through 79 games. They’ll be able to clinch the division title with both one more win and one more Edmonton Oilers regulation loss.
