Golden Knights re-sign Kaeden Korczak to four-year extension

The Vegas Golden Knights have announced that they’ve re-signed defenseman Kaeden Korczak to a four-year extension, and signed defenseman Jeremy Davies to a two-year contract.

Korczak’s extension comes in at a cap hit of $3.25 million per year. He was entering the final year of his two-year contract with an $825,000 cap hit, and was set to become a Group Six unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season.

There are no confirmed clauses with the contract, but Korczak does get a $2 million signing bonus for the 2026-27, the only altercation to his annual salary.

With the deal, the Golden Knights lock up Korczak until his age 29 season at 3.13% of the 2026-27 season’s projected salary cap. His cap hit comparable is Dallas Stars defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin.

Korczak’s 2024-25 season saw him in the NHL full-time, never playing in the AHL, although he was still rotated in and out of the lineup as a healthy scratch. In 40 games with the Golden Knights, he had 10 assists.

Korczak also played in just one playoff game for Vegas, their 4-2 loss in Game 1 of the second round against the Edmonton Oilers. He was held pointless in the game, with a shot, a hit, and a blocked shot in 13:04 of ice time.

The Golden Knights also signed Davies to a two-year contract. He was an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of his one-year, $775,000 contract with the Ottawa Senators.

The term is the only known detail of the contract, as the salary, the clauses, the bonuses, and whether or not it’s a one-way or two-way contract have yet to be confirmed.

Davies spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season in the AHL with the Senators minor league affiliate, the Belleville Senators. In 72 games, he had 11 goals and 37 assists for 48 points, with his assist and point totals being career highs for him.
