Vegas Golden Knights head coach Ryan Craig announced Thursday that forward Victor Olofsson is out week-to-week after sustaining an injury during the team’s recent 6-2 win over the Seattle Kraken.

Olofsson, 31, scored a pair of goals in 10:48 of ice time before leaving Tuesday’s game midway through the third period after being checked awkwardly into the boards by Kraken forward Ben Meyers, who was assessed a five-minute major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct. Olofsson had to be helped off the ice and did not return.

Raphael Lavoie skated in Olofsson’s spot during line rushes at the Golden Knights’ Thursday morning skate, with Trevor Connelly filling in on the team’s top power-play unit. Vegas is slated to welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to T-Mobile Arena on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Pacific.

The Golden Knights signed Olofsson to a one-year, $1.638 million contract as an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The 5’11” winger previously spent the 2024-25 season with the club, collecting 15 goals and 29 points in 56 games during the regular season and adding two goals and four points in nine playoff contests; this year, he has four goals and five points through five games.

A seventh-round pick (No. 181 overall) of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2014 NHL Draft, Olofsson came to North America in 2018 after spending the previous years developing in his native Sweden. He began his career with parts of six seasons with the Sabres, scoring at least 20 goals in three of them.

Olofsson departed Buffalo for Vegas as a UFA in 2024. After his first season with the Golden Knights, Olofsson signed with the Colorado Avalanche in the summer of 2025; he skated in 60 games with Colorado in 2025-26 before being flipped to the Calgary Flames as part of the Nazem Kadri trade.

In 452 career NHL games over parts of nine seasons with the Sabres, Golden Knights, Avalanche, and Flames, Olofsson has collected 122 goals and 247 points. The Ornskoldsvik, Sweden product has also appeared in nine playoff contests (all with Vegas in 2025), recording two goals and four points.
