Washington Capitals acquire Michael Raffl; Anaheim Ducks acquire Haydn Fleury

The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Michael Raffl from the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenceman Haydn Fleury.

Raffl, 32, has spent his full eight year career with the Flyers and this year, has appeared in 34 games scoring three goals and eight points. He carries a $1.6-million cap hit and is a UFA at the end of the season.

According to hockeyviz.com, at even-strength Raffl provides offence at a one percent rate above league average and defence at a two percent rate below league average.

Fleury, 24, has been sent to the Ducks in exchange for defenceman Jani Hakanpaa and a 6th round pick. Fleury has one more year left on his contract that carries a $1.3-million cap hit and is an RFA at the end of the deal.

According to hockeyviz.com. at even-strength Fleury provides offence at a two percent rate below league average and defence at a one percent rate better than league average.

According to hockeyviz.com. at even-strength Hakanpaa brings offence at a 14 percent rate below league average, and defence at an impressive 11 percent rate better than league average.
