Capitals re-sign Bogdan Trineyev to two-year extension
The Washington Capitals announced Saturday that they have re-signed forward Bogdan Trineyev to a two-year, $1.8-million contract that will keep him with the club through the 2027-28 season.
The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Bogdan Trineyev to a two-year, $1.8 million contract. The first year of Trineyev’s contract will be a two-way contract ($850,000/$225,000), while the second year will be a one-way contract ($950,000).
The deal is structured in that the first year will be a two-way contract ($850,000 in NHL, $225,000 in AHL) and a one-way deal in the second year, paying $950,000.
Through 30 games with the Capitals’ AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, Trineyev has nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points. He also made his NHL debut this season, appearing in two games with Washington and recording one shot on net, averaging 10:32 of ice time.
In five AHL seasons, the 23-year-old winger has 32 goals and 26 assists for 58 points in 157 career regular-season games. He’s also played in 30 Calder Cup Playoff games, where he’s scored five goals and six assists for 11 points.
Trineyev was part of Hershey’s 2024 Calder Cup championship, where he scored five goals and recorded two assists for seven points in eight games.
Trineyev, taken by the Capitals in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, has two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 53 KHL regular-season games.
The Capitals are 25-21-6 with 56 points, sixth in the Metropolitan Division and four points back of a Wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference.
