The Washington Captials have signed forward Conor Sheary to a two-year, $3-million contract extension.

Sheary, 28, is in his first season with the team after joining them as a free agent last offseason. This year, Sheary has scored 11 goals and 19 points in 40 games. According to hockeyviz.com, he provides both even-strength offence and defence at a three percent rate higher than league average.

For the Capitals to grab Sheary at only $1.5-million AAV is a great value for what’s a very solid player.
