Frank Seravalli was joined by Mike McKenna to discuss the trade market for Mark Scheifele on the latest episode of Daily Faceoff Live.

Frank Seravalli: Mike, so when it comes to the Winnipeg Jets, the one team we didn’t talk about today that’s facing some big questions, what’s the market like for Mark Scheifele?

Mike McKenna: Well, 40 goals scored for a centerman who just turned 30. At $6 million for one year, this is easily first-round pick and prospect territory and maybe then some, I would think. What’s your take on it?

Frank Seravalli: I think it’s a bargain AAV for next year at the very least, even if you’re only thinking about having this guy for one year. If you want to re-sign him for longer then great, but at $6 million at that number his production has been way higher than his cap hit on this entire contract. I agree with you, I think if you’re ranking the Jets in terms of value, to me it’s still Pierre-Luc Dubois at number one, Connor Hellebuyck at number two only because teams generally don’t get a lot for goalies and they’re going to have to pay Hellebuyck, three is Scheifele, and a distant fourth is Blake Wheeler.
