What should be the next move for the Rangers after Trouba trade?

Following the big blockbuster move that sent former captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks last week, many are beginning to wonder what might be next for the New York Rangers.
The Rangers sending the veteran defenseman after a long tenure with the team is surprising in a way, even though general manager Chris Drury openly admitted that he is willing to hear offers for most of his players, outside goaltender Igor Shesterkin.
That leaves many names on the table between now and the trade deadline. Prior to the Trouba transaction, many pointed at Chris Kreider as one of the first players to go. The longest-tenured Ranger has openly spoken about the rumors around his name, and his desire to be on the squad as it tries to turn around what has been a bad stretch for the Original Six team.
On Monday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Colby Cohen and Tyler Yaremchuk talk about what the next move could be made by the Rangers.
Colby Cohen: It’s a crying shame that Cam Fowler was not a part of this [Trouba] deal, because he would’ve improved the Rangers’ blue line immediately. To me, you got problems on the back end. Ryan Lindgren has had a really tough stretch of hockey this year. I know everybody’s just ready to show him out the door, but he’s a good player and he’s done well with Adam Fox in the past…I do think we have this recency bias through the first quarter of the season has been bad, no doubt about it.
You look at the rest of the d-corps: K’Andre Miller–he’s vastly underperformed this season. He looks disinterested in the defensive zone. [Braden] Schneider’s played better at times…If you have Stanley Cup aspirations, this is not going to get it done, and that’s where the focus needs to lie. That’s where I think it’s crazy that [the Rangers] did not find a way to include Cam Fowler who, from what I understand, would’ve waived [his no-trade clause] to go to New York.
You’re in win-now mode if you’re Chris Drury. So, ultimately, the Rangers need to improve their back end.
