What will the Detroit Red Wings do at the trade deadline?

Things could not be better for Detroit sports (at least for two of their teams).
With a recent surge, the Detroit Red Wings have solidified themselves as playoff contenders.
After a 3-2, come-from-behind win, against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night, the Wings have moved up into the top three in the Atlantic Division. The team has won seven of their last nine games, including their shocking win over the Toronto Maple Leafs this past Sunday.
They are also in the midst of their best start to a calendar year in a long time. Since Jan. 1, Detroit is 6-0-1, their best start to begin a new year since 2009, the last time the team made it to the Stanley Cup Finals.
So, the question becomes, how aggressive, if at all, will general manager Steve Yzerman be as we approach the Trade Deadline?
The team is just one point up on the Leafs for third, and 10 points back of the first-place Boston Bruins. Yet, they are just three points from being out of a playoff spot entirely.
On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss how good the Wings have been, and what the team might do in the next couple of months.
Frank Seravalli: I think all of Detroit as a marketplace is itchy to do something and get back into the playoffs, ‘let’s make Detroit Hockeytown again.’ That’s really the thought process. Do I think the Detroit Red Wings are a playoff team? Yea, I do. I think the bigger question is, in terms of thought process for how the Red Wings view this Deadline, that’s gonna be the tougher part for Yzerman to sort out. You want to make that next step, and be a playoff team, but you also don’t want to approach it any sort of an emotional way.
