What the Jets need to do to win series against Stars

It could be a long summer for the President’s Trophy winners.
On Thursday night, the Winnipeg Jets are looking to stay alive in the Central Division Final, as the Dallas Stars have the chance to eliminate them in Game 5.
It has not been a glorious series for the Jets. Unfortunately, Connor Hellebuyck’s playoff demons continue to haunt him, and their offense hasn’t been able to keep up with the likes of Mikko Rantanen, putting them down in a 3-1 hole.
The Jets do have a saving grace in that they’ve been excellent on home ice, though Dallas did win Game 1 in Winnipeg to start the series.
On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss what the Jets need to do in order to live to fight another day and push this series to seven.
Tyler Yaremchuk: [The Jets] have been damn good on home ice, and I think there’s plenty of reason to believe they can extend this series, but if they’re going to extend it any further than five games, Frank, what do you need to see from this Jets team?
Frank Seravalli: Consistency. Look, it’s not that they haven’t worked or haven’t played. I mean, Game 4 was there for the taking. They were in the mix. They need more saves. They need their power play, which has been dreadful, to be way better as you can see – 6.3 percent. They need a lot of things to go right to try and carve out that path to get back to level ground. I know that sounds funny to say given the criticism that we just had for the [Toronto Maple Leafs], but the Jets…you just need one game and slowly begin to turn the tide. The problem with that is Dallas [is] deeper, better defense, [Miro] Heiskanen back, and then [Jake] Oettinger has been rock solid.
