Which team will Connor Ingram sign with?

It has been almost two full months since NHL unrestricted free agency opened back on July 1, and there are still a few notable players without homes for the 2026-27 season.

That includes goalie Connor Ingram, who is coming off a solid season with the Edmonton Oilers that saw him post a .899 save percentage and rack up 16 wins and 2 shutouts across 32 appearances.

But the Oilers added Devon Levi and Frederik Andersen in offseason moves, meaning a reunion with Ingram is not in the cards. Even factoring him fully out of Edmonton, there should be a market for an experienced 29-year-old with a career SV% above .900.

On last Wednesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, host Tyler Yaremchuk and co-host and former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton discussed Ingram’s recent track record of success and which teams could benefit by adding him into their mix between the crease as a late signing.

Tyler Yaremchuk: When we did our goalie preview with Kevin Woodley a couple of months ago now, he said that Connor Ingram was the best free agent on the market. Yet here we are on August 19, and Connor Ingram does not have a new contract yet, Hutts. He is sitting as an unrestricted free agent, and in the game of goalie musical chairs in the NHL, there’s not a lot of seats left, either. Connor [Ingram] will land in [BLANK]?

Carter Hutton: For Connor Ingram, the factor for me is he had such a great year, and now you’re kind of waiting. The market is what it is. For me, I like Pittsburgh… You still have two young guys that our your guys in [Arturs] Silovs and [Sergei] Murashov. I think in the factor of you can give him a decent number, and it can be a low-ticket deal. I know Murashov is ready… But if there’s a chance where he’s not running, or Silovs is running with it. You can still get him to play some minutes. Pittsburgh is a team I think that needs some depth, and the other one for me that I kind of landed on just looking at the rosters and kind of knowing where goalies are in the template is the Ottawa Senators. Linus Ullmark always having a little bit of tough stretches during the year with Leevi Merilainen playing poorly behind them. They have Samuel Ersson. Connor Ingram could be a guy they bring in on a decent little number.
