Which team is the most desirable to take over as a GM?

While everyone discusses which teams are the most desirable destinations for a player or even a coach, few ever consider which organization would be the most appealing to potential general managers.
While many people would be interested in taking over a top team like the Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights or Winnipeg Jets, there are a few rising franchises that some might think would be great opportunities to step in and mold a team that could one day be a championship contender.
Even though they are still at the bottom of the league standings, the San Jose Sharks are a team on the rise. With a young core, led by Macklin Celebrini, and a solid prospect pool, they could easily be a team worth working for someday. Another might be the Utah Mammoth. Along with great young stars like Clayton Keller and Logan Cooley, the franchise is making it clear that they are for real and are committed to investing in the team to lead to a brighter future.
On Tuesday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton discuss which teams in the NHL would be worth GM hopefuls to throw their hat in the ring for.
Carter Hutton: I think the way things are going, I might say San Jose. I just think it’s a young, exciting team with lots of good talent, a good young goalie. Things are looking up and it feels like, to me, they’ve got a little bit of a pass right now. I feel like things are trending in the right direction. I think that might be the team for me.
Tyler: I think mine is Utah. They’re kind of the sexy pick. Ton of cap space, ton of picks, a bunch of talent that’s already kind of established and doing things at the NHL level. It’s a bit more of a certain thing if you want to call it that. And all those guys are locked up with term, as we spoke about last week when Cooley signed. So, I think I might go with Utah.
