It was one of those nights for the Dallas Stars as the team from Texas beat up their divisional rival Nashville Predators 9-2 on Thursday.

Stars’ forward Wyatt Johnston led the way with a four-point effort (two goals and two assists) and Matt Duchene, one season removed from being bought out of his contract with three years remaining by the Predators, scored two goals of his own.

The Stars have now won three straight and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. Sitting first in the Central Division, Dallas has a chance in the last quarter of the season to solidify home ice through the post-season.

On Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli, Tyler Yaremchuk and Luke Gazdic discuss the Stars’ winning ways and

Tyler Yaremchuk: The Stars are red-hot right now and they beat the heck out of the Predators on Thursday night. When you look at this team on paper, it’s tough to find holes. Where do they rank in your Western Conference Power Rankings and how close are they to being a “perfect team”?

Luke Gazdic: Oh man, they’re right up there. It kind of sucks for the Central Division because between them, the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets, one of them is going to get bounced in the first round when I think they all have Stanley Cup aspirations.

Frank Seravalli: I think their game looks like post-season hockey, that’s why I picked them to win the Stanley Cup. The physicality and heavy style they play works. But my question for Luke is, when I watch certain teams, they have too much of the same. When I look at Dallas, their defenseman are all the same. I look at them and think, “They should get Chris Tanev.” Where do you come out on that?

Luke Gazdic: I never think it’s a bad thing to add another dimension to your roster, but a big part of it is how much you want to tweak this roster? How much does the chemistry in the room matter right now? I look at their lineup and I hear the phrase “they come at you in waves,” and that’s what Dallas does. They just come at you over and over.

I agree that they could add another element on their blue line, but I don’t know much I would want to tinker with that lineup.
