Will the Hellebuyck trade be the Devils’ only big move this season?

The New Jersey Devils are being taken very seriously after acquiring Connor Hellebuyck from the Winnipeg Jets. However, will that be the only rabbit general manager Sunny Mehta pulls out of his hat this year?
The rookie GM made a big swing in trading a large number of assets to get the Hart Trophy winner. However, that might not be the only big deal that Mehta makes this year. With a star netminder between the pipes, the Devils could be a real player come playoff time, meaning that they might want to get another top-six forward or top-pair blueliner to fill out the roster.
On Friday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Jeff Marek explains whether the Hellebuyck trade is the only marquee move the Devils will make this year.
Jeff Marek: I think they would still be in the conversation for Quinn Hughes. I mean, the Quinn Hughes and Dylan Larkin situation all seem to be tied together, don’t they?… If Minnesota is able to get Dylan Larkin, does that then cement Quinn Hughes re-signing with the Minnesota Wild? Like, I still think that this is Minnesota auditioning for Quinn Hughes and showing you that you can have this team here long-term.
I think part of it, too, is I really do think that Quinn is concerned and sensitive about, as much as he wants to play with his brothers, walking in and taking Luke Hughes’ power-play time, taking a spot or pushing him down the lineup. That is a reality. As much as I say it’s wonderful to have all the brothers together, that is one of the realities that you deal with. As far as you know, does it take [the Devils] out of a Larkin situation? No, I don’t. Does it take him out of a Quinn Hughes situation? No, I don’t think so either, honestly. I think that I think Sunny is showing us what kind of general manager he is here.
