The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with pending restricted free agent forward Isak Rosen, the club announced Wednesday afternoon.

Rosen, 23, split the 2025-26 season between the Jets and Buffalo Sabres organizations. The 6′ right wing collected six goals and 10 points in 37 NHL games with the two teams.

According to the Jets, Rosen’s new contract carries a $925,000 NHL cap hit for the next two seasons.

The Jets acquired Rosen from Buffalo in a trade deadline deal on Mar. 6, sending Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn to the Sabres in exchange for Rosen, Jacob Bryson, a 2027 second-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick.

The Sabres originally selected Rosen in the first round (No. 14 overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft. The Swedish winger spent his formative developmental years in the Leksands IF organization before arriving in North America ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Rosen has spent the majority of his professional career to date with the AHL’s Rochester Americans, collecting 87 goals and 185 points in 231 games over parts of four seasons with the club. He led the Americans with 25 goals in just 37 games during the 2025-26 season.

After appearing in seven games with the Sabres in the 2023-24 season and eight the following year, Rosen earned his first significant NHL call-up with the club in 2025-26, collecting four goals and seven points in 16 games before the trade. He ultimately fell victim of the numbers game in Buffalo, on a team with many similar prospects, but could get more of an opportunity in Winnipeg moving forward.

Through 52 career NHL games over parts of three seasons split between Buffalo and Winnipeg, Rosen has collected six goals and 11 points. Before making his NHL debut, he scored six goals and 11 points in 14 games with Team Sweden at the 2022 and 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships.
