Jets sign Tanner Pearson, Cole Koepke to one-year contracts
The Winnipeg Jets have signed wingers Tanner Pearson and Cole Koepke to identical one-year, $1 million contracts.

Pearson was an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of his one-year contract at a league-minimum cap hit of $775,000. The Jets pay a little bit more to bring him in, but it still comes in at a manageable cap hit.
Pearson is coming off of a bounce back season with the Vegas Golden Knights, where he had 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 78 games. While it’s not quite at the levels of his 40-point seasons during his prime, it was his highest point total since getting 34 with the Vancouver Canucks in 2021-22.
Koepke was a Group Six UFA after the conclusion of his one-year contract at a league-minimum cap hit of $775,000. Much like Pearson, the Jets pay a bit more to sign him, but the cap hit is still more than manageable.
Koepke is coming off of his first full season at the NHL level with the Boston Bruins, where he had 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points in 73 games. Prior to that, the most games he’d played in an NHL season was 17 with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2022-23.
The Jets have had a quieter offseason, as beyond these two signings, the only other move of note was signing hometown veteran Jonathan Toews to a one-year, $2 million contract. They still have around $21.5 million in salary cap space, although they still have eight restricted free agents to sign, including Gabriel Vilardi and Dylan Samberg.
The Jets will look to build off of an incredible regular season where they captured the Presidents’ Trophy, but also fell short in the playoffs, losing in six games in the second round to the Dallas Stars.
