NHL 2020 Awards Finalists

With the NHL Regular Season getting shortened and the Playoffs getting extended into the fall, the NHL is doing their Awards differently as well.

They have been unveiling their Award Finalists day-by-day and the winners will be announced during the Conference Finals in September.

Below is a list of all of the finalists for all of the prominent NHL Awards.


Ted Lindsay Award

The Ted Lindsay Award (formerly Lester B. Pearson Award) is presented annually to the “most outstanding player” in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the NHLPA.

Jack Adams Award

Presented to the coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success, selected in a poll of NHLBA members.

Alain Vigneault (Philadelphia Flyers)

Calder Trophy

An annual award given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the NHL, selected in a PWHA poll.

Quinn Hughes (Vancouver Canucks)

Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche)

Lady Byng Trophy

Given to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.

Masterton Trophy

An annual award under the trusteeship of the PHWA and is given to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.

Vezina Trophy

The Vezina Trophy is an annual award given to the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at this position as voted by the general managers of all NHL clubs.

Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg Jets)

Tuukka Rask (Boston Bruins)

Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa Bay Lightning)

Norris Trophy

An annual award given to the defenseman who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position.

John Carlson (Washington Capitals)

Victor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning)

Roman Josi (Nashville Predators)

Selke Trophy

The Frank J. Selke Trophy is an annual award given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game.

Patrice Bergeron (Boston Bruins)

Sean Couturier (Philadelphia Flyers)

Ryan O’Reilly (St. Louis Blues)

Hart Trophy

The Hart Memorial Trophy is an annual award given to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team. The winner is selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association in all NHL cities at the end of the regular season.
