UPDATE! NHL Black Friday Special

Updated: November 29, 2013 at 4:07 pm by Brock Seguin

I hope all of our American friends had a great thanksgiving, but now it is Black Friday and the NHL schedule is packed with games. It starts early with the Jets taking on the Flyers at 11:30. It is unusual to see such an early start, so make sure you set your lineups.

There will be no goalie rankings article today because of games being played throughout the day, but I will say I think Ondrej Pavelec and Steve Mason should both be solid starts in the early game.

In the second game at 1 pm, Henrik Lundqvist has a terrible matchup against a Bruins team coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Red Wings on Wednesday. Tuukka Rask for the B’s, he is a must-start.

The Penguins and Lightning face off at 4 pm, Marc-Andre Fleury was pulled on Wednesday vs. Toronto but I think he is a good start vs. the Lightning. Ben Bishop hurt his hand in practice on Wednesday but will start, however he has a really tough matchup vs. the Penguins.

There are three other 4 pm games, I like Detroit over the Islanders, so Jimmy Howard gets his first win since November 1. Anaheim over Calgary, Frederik Andersen goes for the Ducks with an outstanding matchup. Finally, San Jose hosting the Blues in what should be a great goalie battle between Brian Elliott and Antti Niemi.
