Line Stacks

Vegas 1 — (Pacioretty – Karlsson – Stone)

Vegas’ top line has been dominant in the series, posting a 63.7 CorsiFor% (CF%), 66.9 ExpectedGoalsFor% (xGF) and 64.6 ScoringChancesFor% (SCF%). They are generating scoring chances at an absurd rate (55.3 SCF/60) and are by far the Golden Knights’ best line. They have generated 37 percent of Vegas’ shots (from forwards) and 33 percent of their scoring chances. Their price is absurd but as long as Thatcher Demko doesn’t stand on his head again, they could be in for a massive, GPP-winning type of night.

Philadelphia 2 — (Farabee – Hayes – Konecny)

With Sean Couturier questionable to play, the Flyers lines may be in flux and are worth monitoring in warmups–we’ll have them @DailyFaceoff on Twitter. One line that will likely still be together is PHI2. The Hayes line sees NYI1 and NYI2 for the majority of the game and both lines are giving up more than 30 SCA/60 in the playoffs. Mathew Barzal is also questionable, which will hurt the Islanders’ top-line as well. In the series, Hayes has two goals and two assists while averaging a rock-solid 3.4 shots per game. Konecny had a slow start but has started turning a corner, averaging 3.2 shots per game. Farabee doesn’t have the same upside now that he isn’t on the top power-play unit but he’s a perfectly good value play to round out the full line stack.

Defensemen

Shea Theodore (VGK) — $6,700

Theodore is the most expensive defenseman on the slate and for good reason. He is on an absolute tear, having picked up eight points (1G / 7A), 22 shots (4.4 SOG/gm) and five blocked shots in the series. Playing VGK1 with Theodore leaves you with very little salary for the rest of the lineup but they have slate breaking upside.

Scott Mayfield (NYI) — $3,500

Mayfield is the G.O.A.T. D-punt of the 2020 playoffs so far. He has hit the three-block bonus in three of the last four games and has assists in back-to-back games. He is averaging 9.0 DraftKings points per game in the series and is a great way to save money on the blueline.

Robert Hagg (PHI) — $2,600

If you’re playing VGK1, especially with Theodore, you’re going to need to find savings somewhere. Hagg is the near-minimum price and has been relatively solid when he’s in the lineup. Since the start of the Montreal series, Hagg has two assists while averaging 1.3 shots and 1.8 blocks per game for a decent 4.3 DKPt floor for a $2,600 defenseman.

Goalies

Robin Lehner (VGK) — $8,200

Lehner was a huge disappointment on Tuesday, giving up two goals on just 17 shots (3.5 DK Pts) in a 2-1 loss. The win bonus could have saved a pedestrian night but Thatcher Demko stood on his head and stole the game. The Golden Knights have outshot the Canucks 189-to-132 (37.8 to 26.4) in the series and it’s tough to envision Demko making 42 saves again. Lehner should get the W tonight and Vegas will be moving on.
