The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has announced that Arizona Coyotes forward Michael Carcone has been fined $2,027.23 for roughing Vegas Golden Knights forward Gage Quinney on Tuesday.

Carcone hit Quinney up high six minutes into the second period.

Carcone, 26, played in 21 games with the Coyotes last year, his first in the NHL. He totalled six points to go along with his 41 with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners.

Vancouver signed Carcone as an undrafted free agent in 2016 before getting sent to Toronto for Josh Leivo in 2018. Carcone was then part of the deal that sent Nikita Zaitsev and Connor Brown to Ottawa, where he remained until he was moved to Nashville in 2020. The Predators loaned him to Tuscon two years later before ultimately trading him to Arizona last summer.

Carcone was placed on waivers on Sept. 29 before being recalled two days later.
